Banks o'Dee was formed in 1902 by the Rechabites. The club's home ground is Spain Park which is accessed from Abbotswell Road. Spain Park was purchased from the Aberdeen engineering firm J M Hendersons in 1965.The managing director of Hendersons at the time was Richard (Dick) Spain. Previous to that "The Dee" played out of Seaton Park but the ground was needed for housing. In 1957 the Club won the Scottish Junior Cup beating Kilsyth Rangers 1 nil in front of a crowd of 37,000 at Hampden Park. The winning Goal was scored by Andy Walker. The Dee manager that day was George Mutch who scored a last minute extra time goal to win the English Cup final for Preston North End against Huddersfield Town in 1938
